About blogging and Passion – Blog Conference Poznań 2017

We spent the current weekend in Wroclaw and Poznan. First business Wroclaw, and then a conference for bloggers – Blog Conference Poznan. It was an interesting experience for us, full of thoughts and inspiring conversations that we would like to share with you.

It's been a while since our last big event for bloggers. Last year, although we planned to appear on several, the life of a travel blogger makes it harder and harder to shoot a date into some free weekend This time, however, it worked out, and we finally went to the capital of Greater Poland, to which Paul wanted to take me so much. I'm ashamed to admit when I was last in Poznan, so I'll keep quiet about it

#Wroclove?

In Wroclaw we have been visiting often lately, and yet not enough to be able to write that we know the city. We are discovering them slowly, partially. We return to places we have already been, but also get to know new ones, and there is still something to come back for. This time we focused on the inner center and the old town, which at this time of year are alive and full of life. The last time we were in Wroclaw in winter, when the market was covered with a thin layer of snow, with a few people walking around, and at hrs. 18 all the lanterns were already lit. This time the square was filled with people, gardens, stalls – a completely different place.

We just happened to be on Mother's Day (my first one!), so everywhere we could buy a lot of flowers, jewelry, cosmetics. I really, really enjoy the atmosphere here and discovering newer and better restaurants and cafes. Unfortunately, this was more of a business trip, so we didn't have time to fully explore Wroclaw, but it was still nice to peek in and meet familiar faces with common interests (kudos to Gathering!).

From Wroclaw we drove quickly to Poznan. Although the word fast means no less than that we were in a hurry. We calculated when, more or less, we need to set off, so that Olive would take a peaceful nap in the car and wake up in Poznan. Our calculations for the start time were perfect, worse for the duration of the trip. It took us 3.5 hours! Olive got a decent night's sleep, and we had not yet left Wroclaw. We have already forgotten what it's like to stand in traffic jams on the way out of the city and greatly appreciated the infrastructure around Lodz.

Blog Conference Poznan

We arrived in Poznan after 7 pm, but this did not discourage us from looking for the best ice cream in town. And with that Poznań grabbed my heart! It is a city of delicious sweets! Lots of natural/artisanal ice cream, fancy flavors and names. Fable! Plus, there's a donut shop on the way, and everything is open until 8 or even 9 pm! Just in time for dinner

We especially recommend “Traditional Ice Cream Factory” and “on Teatralka”.

In addition to the delicacies and the International Trade Fair in Poznan (which everyone seems to know as the Poznan goats), it is definitely worth a leisurely stroll through the Old Market and the surrounding streets. We were charmed by.

Comparing Poznan to Wroclaw it is difficult to choose a winner, after all, it is not about seeing one city and not the other. Poznan also has its own unique atmosphere

In Poznan, we spent the night near the Poznań International Fair, at the Mercure Poznań Centrum Hotel. Location was key for us, we wanted a place from which we could walk to the conference, but also walk to the Old Town. We can calmly recommend this hotel to you from this angle.

Blog Conference Poznan is a two-day event for bloggers, which, as the name suggests, takes place in Poznan, and is organized by is Ilona from the blog Mum and the City. The conference brings together bloggers for whom blogging is a passion, hobby, self-expression, but also a way of life and work. And it's these last two aspects that the organizers emphasize – panel discussions, workshops during which you can meet the Greats of the blogosphere, listen to about their experiences, ways to succeed, cooperation with brands and agencies, legal aspects or even how to build your own business. The aim of the conference is to show that blogging is a serious occupation and a job that can be profitable.

For us it was an opportunity to attend an event where many bloggers come, listen to interesting people, exchange experiences as well as meet some familiar faces.

Although we are not people who are extremely active in the blogosphere, we appreciate such meetings, especially panels and workshops where we can hear about interesting projects, collaborations or initiatives. We were able to learn many interesting things, learn new tools and ways to better create content. There were also a lot of lectures on how to make money on the blog, something like “from zero to millionaire”, but so far we have not learned the golden mean to make millions, so we'll write a little more for you

We admire bloggers for their ingenuity, entrepreneurship and business vein. We like to listen to the stories of how they have branched out with a blog, their own business, opened a restaurant, published a book, etc. It is mega inspiring, until a person's head is bursting with ideas of what we can do once we get home! However, you should also remember that a blog is really a lot of work, and behind every idea there are a dozen sleepless nights, hundreds of emails and even more learning and getting to know the tools and methods of how to make our projects at all interesting for you, Dear Reader.

But still, the blog is first and foremost a Passion.

For us, the blog remains exactly the Passion (with a capital P, premeditated) and we are glad that there were also lectures at which this very word appeared most often (bravo to Karol from Bus Through the World). I also applaud Ania from Pea for Garnek, for being able to tell with such sincerity what it's all about. Maybe I'm naive, but I honestly believe that it is the Passion and doing what gives us the most pleasure that is most important. I can't imagine creating posts at which I get tired, in a style that doesn't suit me at all, just to attract influencers (not necessarily bloggers!). We could hire someone to do it, but I guess that's not the point

However, we lacked specifics. It was good to be able to listen to different, often extreme views, because each blogger represents a different and unique way of creating and communicating, and the most important thing in all this is consistency and acting in harmony with each other. Often the issues in the various workshops were duplicated and more technical topics were missing, however.

We regret that we couldn't be at all the panel discussions, but unfortunately a person doesn't split We could not make 100% use of the time at the conference, because, however, some of it had to be spent in “kindergarten”

It was a very long and active weekend for us. It was nice to meet familiar faces, both those we met in person and those we read with enthusiasm. We hope to see more!
